C/S hypermobility Flashcards

1
Q

C/S hypermobiltiy S&S

A
  • intolerance to prolonged static positions
  • feeling of instability, shaking, lack of control
  • fatigue, holding head up (head too heavy)
  • muscle gurading to protect instability
  • ligamentous dull ache

Q

C/S hypermobility presentation and eval

A
  • observation: poor posture
  • UQS ROM: excessive, aberrant movements and pain at end range
  • joint assessment: excessive joint play, lax end feels
  • possible stiff adjacent areas such as upper thoracic and upper cervical
  • neuro S&S with greater grades of hypermobility
  • osteophytes on X-rays
