A

OR Room Criteria

A

•OR walls should be nonporous and easy to clean, fire proof, non glare, non reflective
•Cabinets recessed into the wall, cabinet doors should be sliding type
•OR air flow should be unidirectional, positive laminar air pressure, with a minimum of 15 air exchanges per hour
•HEPA filters
•OR temperature should be between 68-73°F
•OR humidity between 20-60%

A

•Substerile is a workroom located outside the OR
–Contains a sink, sterilizer, blanket and solution warmer
–Located outside the OR so the circulator and STSR can remove instruments directly from the flash sterilizer
