How nerve impulses are transmitted

A

When the dentrite(takes in signal) or cell body is stimulated, it changes the permeability of the cell membrane. Cause NA+ to be permeable to the cell membrane. This rush of NA+ causes voltage gated channels to allow even more NA+ to go into the inside of the neuron. This makes the interior positive and extior negative. This rise in voltage cause more channels to open until the action potential reaches the synaptic cleft.

A

Sensory-transmit impulse from sensory cells to CNS or motor neurons

Motor- Transmit impulse from CNS or sensory neurons to affect cells or organs

Internerouns- Connect sensory neurons to motor neurons
