Courts:

- Protect vulnerable witnesses
Prison:
- Arrest prisoners recalled to prisons for breaching terms of license
- Facilitate interviews w/ prisoners involved in ongoing police investigations
Probation service:
- Management of offenders

- Decide which cases should be prosecuted

- Question them
Courts:
- Appear in courts to advocate a case
- Set out charges and facts for a case
What is the role of the Court?
They decide whether a person committed a crime and what the punishment should be

Prisons:
- Arrange video recordings and live links for prisoners
- Lawyers may visit prisons
- Carry out custodial sentences
Probation service:
- Prepare pre-sentence reports & supervise offenders given a community sentence

- To put government policies into action

Police:
- Home Office is responsible for setting national policing priorities
- Provide funding from taxes
