How does Sheila’s language change throughout the play? What does she call Mrs Birling? What does this tell us about her?

‘Mummy’ changes to ‘mother’

Reflects her maturity. ‘Mummy’ is very spoilt and reflects her capitalist attitude, she is looked after by her mummy like she is a little girl. ‘Mother’ is more formal and adult as she develops a conscience and starts to realise her role in the death of Eva.
