Notes for ISO;

A

They made the iso standardised metric followed by mostly everyone in the world except Canada and America
Companies can out out of following ISO standards - the overall aim with these standards is to improve safety and productivity

Remember that having the ce mark means the a product complies with European conformity and the European standards that must be followed in the EU

Battery directive notes:

A

Use of WEEE and RoHS it deals with the restriction of hazardous substances and safe disposal of batteries
States that the limit for batteries and capacitors is 0.005 percent of mercury and also restricts the amount of cadmium in capacitors to 0.002 per cent

Crossed out wheelie bin means that it can’t be disposed in normal trash

What is significant about the mobius loop?

A

It is a sign to show that a product can be recycled with three arrows representing either a percentage on a polymer code or a SPI society of Plastic industry used to state the polymer resin so that they can be recycled in the correct way

Packaging directive information:

A

Aimed to reduce and promote recycling of packing as well as limit production due to waste from the commercial side to the household

Recent amendment states that the packing must at least be 60 per cent recovered or incinerated at waste incinerations
All packing must be marked with specific materials used to assist in identification and classification

A to G from most efficient to least efficient allows customer to get a good comparison of products
The new label uses pictograms to depict which ones are the best to use

Helps with assisting customers for purchasing goods and which products are the best

A

Manufacturers are able to provide potential customers with a great level of information based on the idea that they contain the label with them

The EU eco labelling is given to products ad companies with follow the standards to a high excellence - throughout their lifecycle, raw material and distribution + disposal

A
