how has smoking changed over the years?

A

1930s - smoking was glamourised and encouraged
film stars were smoking in movies and it was acceptable to smoke indoors, e.g restaurants
1950s - link between tobacco and lung cancer was found and published
concerns of dangers of smoking - warnings on cigarette packets, campaigns to stop smoking e.g anti smoking campaign

A

1600s - punishable by death. removed in 1900s but still prohibited to sex between males - oscar wilde was convicted and served two years
1967 - decriminalised. sexual acts between men over 21 privatised legalised, lowered to 18 & 16
civil partnerships act 2004, same sex marriage act 2013

A

cultural changes, society is less religious which many believed homosexuality is wrong - less belief in god

married women were to stay at home and look after the children while men went to work. unmarried women were employed in teaching or cooking
