Q

What happens to procollagen to make collagen?

A

Hydroxylated and phosphorylated. Then makes disulphide bonds and chains wrap together to make triple helix. Leave cell in vesicles as tropocollagen and then n and c terminal peptides are removed and strands join together by covalent bonds to make large fibre - collagen
