18. separation and purification Flashcards

1
Q

making crystals of copper (II) sulfate

A

1 add copper(II) oxide to warm sulfuric acid for a faster reaction
2 filter the excess copper(II) oxide from the solution
3 remove most of the water by evaporation
4 cool the solution and allow crystallisation to take place
5 filter the crystals from the solution
5 pat with filter paper to dry them
