Q

TTP (thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura) - mechanism? labs? symptoms?

A

Ab –> ADAMSTS13 –> increased vWF multimers –> platelet adhesion/thrombus

low PC, high BT, schistocytes, high LDH

symptoms - fever, microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, renal and CNS issues (HUS = renal)
