NEIL: And how was that?

A

MEERA: I really enjoyed it. The training scheme was good.

: Good. I liked dealing with customers. That’s one of the reasons I’m interested in this job, as it’s also a customer-facing role. So I think my previous experience will help.

19
Q

why did you leave your previous job?

A

the company had a lot of problems, so they decided to close some of their stores. This meant they made a number of people redundant, including me!

20
Q

Yes, I …work .. there since last year. I …see.. an advert on a jobs website, and I decided to apply.

A

MEERA: Well, I knew about their clothes. And I’m quite interested in fashion, generally. To be honest, I thought that the job would be a way to break into the fashion industry.

22
Q

That’s very different from your previous job, isn’t it?

A

Well, yes, but I saw the job at New Mode as a first step. Also, as I said before, I trained in accounting as part of my degree.
