Mechanisms if infection of Campylobacter jejuni?

A
  1. Ingestion/Exposure
  2. Bacterial gastroenteritis / Diarrhea
    - Last for 1-2 weeks (Treatment) / >2 weeks (Untreated)
  3. If left untreated, leads to Guillain-Barre Syndrome (May mistaken as stroke)
  4. Destroys myelin sheaths (Demyelinating polyneuropathy)
  5. Destroys nerve
