Q

Name the three types of filaments and their subunits

A

Microtubule- tubules
Microfiliments- actin in a double strand
Intermediate filaments- intermediates filament such as keratin

Q

What is the function of the micro tubule movement protein?

A

They stay in one place and cause change by making each tubule move against another

Q

How do microfilaments move with a protein?

A

The protein causes the filament to either contract or crawl:
Contraction: protein pulls the filaments together
Crawling: subunits are added and subtracted in the direction of movement, causing the entire cell to move

Q

What are adheres junctions

A

They use cadhedins proteins to bridge cells extracellulary and intracellulary. Attached to microfilaments and allow contraction and respond

Q

What are gap junctions?

A

They create a funnel to allow free flow of ions between cells. Allows for coordination and response
