Noble, loyal, honorable, generous. Had been in 15 battles, fought in the Crusades, in Egypt, Spain, and Turkey. A gentle knight, well-bred and considerate. Never spoke poorly of people. Had a nice horse but didn’t dress as if better than others. Seen as perfect. Had battle scars.

Madam Eglantyne, sang through her nose, spoke French with English accent. Neat and proper. Wanted people to see her as perfect so “counterfeit(ed) a courtly kind of grace.” Overly sensitive–cried if she saw a mouse in a trap. Large lady, large forehead. Wore rosary beads on one arm and a golden brooch that said “Love conquers all.”
