Revolving Nosepiece

Fine Adjustment Knob
The part of the microscope hat connects the eyepiece to the base

This moves the stage up and down to bring a general focus of the slide. Should be used on the lowest power
Coarse Adjustment Knob
Clips responsible for holding onto/retaining the slide
Stage Clips
Also known as the upper part of the microscope that connects the ocular lens to the nosepiece/objective lens
Body Tube
The lens closest to the specimen that receives light/rays from the slide via the light source
Objective Lens
Also known as the ocular lens. The piece you look into to see the magnified slide
Eyepiece
Part of the microscope that concentrates the light on a specimen/slide and increases resolution
Condenser
Used to switch off the lamp when not needed
On/Off Switch
Supports the microscope in an upright position
Base
The slide an specimens are placed here for viewing
Stage
Controls the amount of and shape of light that goes through the condenser
Diaphragm
The piece responsible for providing light source to the microscope
Light
