What is Change
Change is an ongoing process and business can’t avoid its consequences.
Internal Changes
Changes that are initiated by the business :
- Introduction of new technology
- Change of leadership or managment style
- Size of the business external or internal growth
External Changes
Changes initiated by factors fom outside of the business which it has little to no control off
- Developments in technology
- Market chnages ( competitors , globalisation )
- Consumer taste or trends
- New legislation
- Changes in workforce
- Change in the economy
Planned Change
Change that is created internally and is structured and timetabled
Unplanned Change
Changes that occure inn reponse to a shock to the business and is often unstructured and under-resoursed

Lewins 3 step process to remove resistance to change
1/ Unfreezing - persuading emplyees the benefit of the need for change and create a situation to reinforce it
2/ Change - helping emplyees transition to change through education or training
3/ Refreezing - eastablish routine and integrated change into the business
