- All members can search since they are oriented on the rope

-Safety isn’t the foremost concern

- Perform physical search for victims
- Know where you are in your assigned search area
- Communicate

- Crew’s safety is in focus at all times
- Searchers primarily focus on finding victims
- Searches are conducted faster
- More than one room can be searched simultaneously
Disadvantages of an Oriented Search…
- Not all members are searching
- Requires extensive training and discipline
- Significant responsibility placed on the Orientation Leader
