kohut’s transfernces

A

Kohut settled eventually on three types of self-object transference:
mirror transference (the patient undergoes an exhibitionistic self display, reflecting the grandiose self),
the twinship transference (the patient perceives the analyst as a twin, reflecting the alter-ego self),
and the idealizing transference (the patient perceives an enhanced self esteem by being in the presence of an idealized therapist, reflecting the idealized parental image)
also described earlier a merger transference. therapist is selfobject.
idealizing transference is more mature than the others
