research ethics principles

A

respect for persons= autonomy, consent(the standard is higher than just clinical consent), protect the vulnerable
benefecience= therapeutic equipoise, placebo only acceptable if there is no known agreed upon Tx
justice= you can’t do a study oninpatients just cuz it’s convenient. it has to benefet the subpopulation.also, if there is no reason to exclude women and children then don’t cuz it’s not fair to deprive them of the benefit of the research. developing countries too
