A

Personal control
-Areas which the performer can take control. e.g. commitment to training, effort & concentration

External control
-Ares where the individual has little control over. e,g. tactics, referee & quality of the opposition

Use of self serving-bias & attributions

Why is it used

A
  • Success = internal factors (performer gains satisfaction)
  • Failure = External or Unstable factors (protect their self-esteem)

-To avoid learn helplessness (where failure is inevitable)
