extinct in the wild (EW)
Critically endagered (CR) >90% in 10 yrs/ 3 generations
Endangered (E) >70% in 10 years/3 generations
Vulnerable (VU) >50% in 10 years/ 3 generations eg. hippo

Q

What are 2 ways of measuring range of size?

A

extent occurance - join dots of habitat so encircle general area
area of occupancy - like a grid with dots
subset of eoo and acknowledges that there are holes in distance of species with ee

Q

What are the cons of the red list?

A
  1. makes assumptions
  2. inaccurate
  3. still requires some data
  4. species definition
    - could be larger variation between species
  5. thresholds- just below or above, put in distinct categories.
