11
Q

2nd degree AV block

A

Mobitz I: Progressive prolonged PR interval until one QRS complex is dropped.

Mobitz II: PR intervals are the same followed by a drop of QRS interval. More serious, heart rate is low, cardiac output decreases.

12
Q

Third-degree AV block

A

All impulses are blocked at the AV node
No signal transmitted to ventricles
Atria and ventricles are paced independently
Medical emergency

A

2 normal, 1 abnormal

17
Q

Ventricular tachycardia

A

> 3 consecutive PVCs
Ventricular rate >150
QRS is wide with high amplitude, no identifiable P waves
Longer than 30 seconds life-threatening

18
Q

Ventricular fibrillation

A

Ventricles do not beat in a coordinated fashion
No cardiac output, patient is unconscious
No recognizable P waves, QRS complex, T waves
Immediate defibrillation, life-threatening

19
Q

Depressed ST segment

A

Indicative of ischemia

20
Q

Elevated ST segment

A

Indicative of MI

21
Q

Inverted T-wave

A

Present hours or days after MI

Delay in repolarization produced by the injury
