16
Q

What is the ballpark fuel burn for the first 3 hours of flight?

A

1st hour: 2600#
2nd hour: 2000#
3rd hour: 1800#

17
Q

What is the kevlar containment ring for?

A

If the Fan section of the engine separates, the containment ring prevents fragments from penetrating the pressure vessel.

18
Q

When the stick-shaker activates due to excessive AOA, what happens automatically?

A

FADEC fires both igniters and modulates engine thrust to try to prevent compressor stall.

19
Q

What warnings can you expect during an engine fire?

A
  1. Master Warning Lights
  2. L/R ENGINE FIRE CAS msg.
  3. Red FIRE inside N1 indicaors.
  4. Fire Switch Light illuminates
  5. Aural “ENGINE FIRE”
20
Q

How many consecutive ENGINE starts can you do?

A

3, with 30 second of motoring (cooling) in between starts, then 15 minutes cooling.

21
Q

What is the primary method of checking engine oil?

A

At the refuel Panel or Remote Oil Level Sensors (ROLS)

**there is a sight gage in each engine (secondary way of checking oil level)

22
Q

During a normal start, when does the start valve close and the ATS (AIR TURBINE STARTER) disengage?

A

50% N2

24
Q

Why is there no need for PRIST?

A

A Fuel Heater/Oil Cooler (FHOC) heats the fuel and cools the engine oil. (Heat Exchanger)

25
Q

When should we manually turn on the igniters?

A

Acronym TRCT

T- Thnderstorms
R - Rain (heavy)
C - Contaminated Runways
T - Turbulence

Both Igniters A and B fire.

26
Q

Engine thrust rating

A

7372 # of thrust.

27
Q

What is the time limit in the TO detent?

A

5 minutes

28
Q

What 3 things need to happen in order for Mach Hold to be Active (MACH HOLD ON and Green Mach Hold in between N1 gauges)?

A

N1 or N2 must be sync’d

Aircraft Trimmed for steady level flight.

Autopilot Engaged in either Altitude Hold or Altitude Select (with altitude captured)

29
Q

Minimum Oil temperature to operate engines above ground idle power.

A

5 C

30
Q

Minimum Oil temperature to apply takeoff power.

A

27 degrees C
