- June 1972 , 5 CREEP Members break into the Democratic party headquarters and arrested
- James McCord, one of the members revealed it was a White-House coverup
- Nixon initially denied government involvement
- Nixon admitted his two top advisors were involved; they resigned
- Senate investigations were conducted and televised
- Nixon was demanded to release white house tapes
- Nixon releases the tapes, however they are edited with 18 minutes of missing footage
- Nixon forced to release full unedited tapes proving his involvement in the coverup
- Resigned to avoid impeachment
- Pardoned by Gerald Ford
