1956- birnimgham survery-1.5% white individuals would share anroom with black tenants
Race relations act 1965 banned racial discrimination in public places, in 1968 would lead to employment,housing, public services

1967 sexual offences act decriminalised secual activity in private between men 21 years and over
section 28 1988 prohibited promotion of homosexuality in local authorities. Sir elton john comes out as gay in rolling stones magazine interview.
Section 28 repealed in 2003
