8-2: Battle of Saratoga

A

British General Burgoyne was supposed to March to Albany from Lake Champlain to meet up with General Howe. Ever so slowly his troops were shot by militia while marching there. Forced to surrender to the American general Horatio Gates

A

1781, Cornwallis retreats to Chesapeake bay to escape, but is met by the french navy. He surrenders all of his men. Final winning battle in the revolutionary war

s-America officially beats England, free country!

A

Treaty between United States and Britain to end the revolutionary war, held in Paris

A

Thomas Jefferson wrote it to disestablish the Anglican church in Virginia, complete religious freedom
