They got more pronounced. They wrote on the subject matters the men didn’t really refer to: child loss, difficult servants, household, unhappy marriage, etc.

Elizabeth Thomas. Women were told not to read books, since they could get them mad. They were told not to get educated. She sees men as someone who tries to assert control.
