Asked participants to watch a video of cars smashing into each other, and asked questions about them. One question said SMASHED the other said HIT. The questions that said SMASHED were rated higher on how fast the cars were going.
Bruce and young
Aim: To see is familiarity affects accuracy of identifying faces.
Method: Psychology lectures were caught on security cameras at the entrance of a building. Participants were asked to identify the faces seen or the security tape from a series of high-quality photos.
Results: The lectures’ students made more correct identification than experienced police officers
Conclusion: Previous familiarity helps when identifying faces
