- lower respiratory tract infection; filling of alveoli with fluid, dead leukocytes, thickening of respiratory membrane, hypoxemia

mycobacterium tuberculosis, invades lungs and stimulates formation of fibrous nodules of immune cells around TB bacteria (?), scarring of lungs, decrease in lung compliance
