Q

E.g. Temple of Apollo

A

Didyma, Paios of Ephesus, 300 BCE. It was sacked by the Persians in 499 BCE. Rebuilt in 300 BCE by Seleucis I. 10 by 21 columns. Tribon and nymph on the base of the column. Another column base has a meander and Palmettes. Frieze detail - Medusa, bull’s head. Pronaos and 1.5m threshold, vaulted corridors. Surprising as it does not provide the access you would expect.
