Q

Principles of immunity

A
  • Durigng developement the immune system recognices foreign proteins as antigens
  • This evokes an immune process
  • immune response; production of antibodies
  • antibodies binds with high affinity to antigens
  • Immunocytochemistry utilizes these antibodies for the localization of tissue components

Q

Production of antibodies

A
  1. A tissue constituent is extracted from the body of X animal, and pureified.
  2. Injected into bloodstream of another animal. Where it works as an antigen and evokes an immune process, production og antibodies.
  3. The antibodies can be extracted from the blood, purified and characterized.
