Inspect abdomen: skin, umbilicus, contours, presence of peristaltic waves, pulsations (eyes level with abdomen)
Auscultate for bowel sounds in 4 quadrants - diaphragm
Percuss 4 quadrants
Palpate 4 quadrants - lightly, then deeply (with knees bent!)
