24
Q

Rapid acting insulins

A

“Logs”

25
Q

Short acting insulins

A

“Lins-R”

26
Q

Q

What is the correct process for mixing insulins?

A

Roll the NPH to disperse the medicine

Inject the appropriate amount of air into the NPH- do not draw it up

Inject the appropriate amount of air into regular insulin and draw up medicine

Draw up NPH- do not over draw because you can’t push medicine back in

33
Q

How many RN’s are need to draw up insulin?

A

TWO!

Draw up meds and ask “what do you see?” Second RN must also document.
