The use of statistical evidence can be used to determine the need for regeneration from the use of data -
Qualitative data - opinions of people and if there is a perceived need for regeneration.
Quantitative data - Factual information gathered by the government, national census which is gathered every 10 years.
Media representations -
Can occur from any spins of evidence from books, art, articles films, this allows an opinion on a place without actually visiting the place.
Evidence from economic data for the need of local regeneration -
Unemployment and Poverty: Birmingham has been grappling with higher-than-average unemployment and poverty rates. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), Birmingham’s unemployment rate in 2021 was around 9.3%, significantly higher than the national average of 4.8%
