What do drugs do
Drugs alter what goes on inside the body, the body is essentially a seething mass of chemical reactions. Drugs can interfere with these reactions sometimes for the better sometimes not.
Drugs change body chemistry
Some of the changes caused by drugs can lead to the body becoming addicted to the drug. If the drug isn’t taken an addict can suffer physical withdrawal symptoms.
What Are medicinal drugs
Medicinal drugs are medicinally useful, like antibiotics, for some of these drugs you don’t need a prescription but for others you do because they can be dangerous is misused.
Recreational drugs are used for fun, these can be legal or illegal
Performance enhancing drugs can improve a persons performance in sport

Some athletes take performance enhancing drugs to make them better at sport.
There are several different types including anabolic steroids that increase muscle size. And stimulants that increase heart rate.m
But these drugs can have negative health effects
Some of these drugs are banned by law, some are prescription only, but all are banned by sporting bodies there are also ethical problems with performance enhancing drugs.
What are some for and against points of view about performance enhancing drugs.
It’s unfair if people gain advantage by taking drugs not just through training.
Athletes may not be informed of the serious health risks of the drugs they take.

Athletes have the right to make there own decision about whether taking drugs is worth it or not.
Drug free sport isn’t really fair anyway different athletes have access to different training facilities, coaches , equipment
Statins
Statins are prescribed drugs used to lower the risk of heart circulatory disease.
There’s evidence that statins lower blood cholesterol and significantly lower the risk of heart disease in diabetic patients
The original research was done by the government scientists with no connection to the manufacturers. And the sample was big
It compared two groups of patients those who had taken statins and those who hadn’t other studies have since backed up this finding.
Cannabis
Cannabis is an illegal drug. Scientists have investigated whether the chemicals in cannabis smoke cause mental health problems.
The results vary and are sometimes open to different interpretations
Basically until more definite scientific evidence is found no ones sure
