Q

What are some negative impacts on the destination country of the migrant?

A

Migrant workers often send money back to their families in their country of origin, where they came from. This results in less money going to the host country.

Because more people are in the country the demand for housing is greater than the amount of houses to supply. This has resulted in house prices rising very quickly since the early 2000s. Immigration has contributed to this.

A

Migration brings more skills, this has resulted in a growing economy.

Although having children in school that English isn’t the first language can be very hard, many people believe that cultural mixing is a positive thing and reduces racial discrimination.
