  • Key area under National Rural Health Mission since 2005
  • Aim: complete series of primary vaccinations administered to children before reaching age of one year; immunizations include: measles, vitamin A supplement, Bacillus Calmette Guerin, Diphtheria Pertussis Tetanus, Oral Polio Vaccine, Hepatitis B, Measles, Tetanus Toxicoid, Japanese Encephalitis

Mission Indradhanush

A
  • launched by Union Health Ministry in December 2014
  • Aim: vaccinate all unimmunized and partially immunized children and pregnant women by 2020 under the Universal Immunization Program
  • 201 high focus districts account for nearly 50% of the target group of children
  • A fully immunized child should have received: birth dose of BCG, oral polio vaccine, three doses each of Pentavalent Vaccine: (DPT, HIB, Hep B) and OPV and one dose of measles vaccine by first birthday

  • launched by Government of India in April 2005
  • Aim: decrease the neo-natal and maternal deaths by promoting institutional delivery of babies
  • integrates cash assistance with delivery and post delivery care
  • Low Performing States include: UP, Uttranchal, Bihar, Jharkand, MP, Chattisgarh, Assam, Rajasthan, Odisha, J&K
