Q

Name the key steps from midway to impact. [MN]

A
  1. When club is parallel to ground the grip should be pointing to target. Visualize triangle with hands working as one unit. Leading with stronger Left.
  2. On this part of swing you feel the big weight transfer.
  3. When swinging to impact, you pivot shoulders so that L. shoulder snaps up quickly. Your Left shoulder snaps up making you come into shot with the proper R. shoulder low. With this shoulder snap your weight is going forward and you can accelerate hard into ball. Your knees will start to kiss.
  4. Make certain you are swinging triangle in to out at about a 10 degree path to ball.
  5. Triangle is leading body. Hands working as one unit; Left leading harder to close clubface.

On this acceleration and through the impact be concentrating on your R. thumb up and closing clubface.

Q

Comments.

A

In general, everything is relaxed until the shoulder snap. Even though the action is slow, you are holding back a lot of tension and built up power. On the shoulder snap you quickly but gradually release all of this power into your shot. This is what makes the shot go long and pretty!

BS review.

A
  1. Left shoulder down. Right shoulder up.
  2. Clock position 12 & 6
  3. Shoulders and left arm in alignment with each othere.
  4. Continue BS until golf ball is visible past shoulder turn.
  5. Chin resting on left shoulder p. 63
  6. Right leg SB same braced position as address with knee slightly pointed inward. This inward prevents you from going too far to the right and throwing you balance weight away.
  7. Left knee SB pointing a little left and forward until the two part transition. [left pull then back into ground on left heel]
  8. DS will be a tighter circle to impact because right arm is coming down fast!

Q

Impact right arm motion.

A

Coming to impact position, right arm is similar to sidearm/underhand toss to 1st base.

In fact if you think about it, the entire DS is bracing a pivot point with planted left heel and a side arm baseball throw to 1st base.
