Q

What are the 4 things in the the endocardium contains?

A
  1. Squamous epithelium (endothelium) - line entire CV system (non-stick layer) so stop blood coagulation - lines veins, arterioles, chambers and lymph channels. Basically a flat and single layer of thin endothelial cells
  2. Loose irregular FCT (stimulates blood to coagulate)
  3. Blood vessels (small)
  4. Purkinje fibres

Q

What does 3 or 4 things are in the pericardium?

A
  1. Fibrous pericardium
  2. Parietal layer of serous pericardium (serous membrane forms closed spaces
    e. g. interior of balloon - space inside and that balloon around heart but single and continuous layer). These serous cells produce little bit of a lubricant but not huge amount - just allows the heart to beat in a lubricated manner.
  3. Pericardial cavity (with pericardial fluid/serous fluid)
  4. Visceral serous membrane
