A

Individuals who are classified or categorised as belonging to a certain group, and characteristics and behavioural patterns are assigned to them based on the perceivers view of that particular stereotype.

These characteristics are often negative in their consequences and does not take into account the wide range of characteristics that is possible with in a group of people.

Stereotypes are often based in appearance.

Negative Consequences

A

Stereotypes can cause distances between people of our society.
Causes formations of cliques or groups throughout life.
Commonly leads to discrimination.
Opportunities are often missed because of stereotypes.
Stereotyping can cause people to believing that they are limited and defined by the stereotype they are generally categorised as.

Conclusion.

A

These characteristics are often negative in their consequences and does not take into account the wide range of characteristics that is possible with in a group of people.
Stereotyping often camouflages the importance of judging people on how they treat themselves and others, taking a wide range of characteristics in to account.
