Q

When Roosevelt died in April 1945, why was he criticised? What did Truman do when Molotov visited two weeks after as a result?

A

He was criticised in 1945 for a soft attitude to communists. When Molotov visited, he was told to adhere to agreements made at Yalta. Molotov claimed Truman was being too harsh, to which Truman claimed if he didn’t give him reason to be, he would not again.
