How is Herpes Zoster treated?

A
  1. Self-limited
  2. Analgesics, antivirals and symptomatic treatment
  3. if started early, antivirals in large doses (Valtrex, Famvir, Acyclovir) can decrease shedding
  4. treatment of secondary infection (oral antibiotics)
