  1. Immunosuppressant (Gengraf, Neoral)
    - Used in organ transplant patients
    - Inhibits T cells
  2. Anti-inflammatory (Restasis)
    - Thought to decrease inflammation associated with dry eye

  • Don’t touch tip to eye

Adverse effects

A
  • 17% experience ocular burning
  • 1-5% experience conjunctival hyperemia, discharge, epiphora, eye pain, foreign body sensation, pruritus, stinging, visual disturbance
  • Post-marketing: hypersensitivity, superficial eye injury
