What was the ‘Red Shock Troop’?
Newspaper published by the SPD group Red Shock Troop, in 1933. This was printed about every 10 days and built up a membership of about 3000.
What happened to the leaders of the Red Shock Troop?
They were arrested in December 1933 and sent to concentration camps.
How did young people show resistance to the Nazis?
Some young people refused to join the Hitler Youth and instead went to clubs to listen to ‘cool’ music such as swing and jazz. They also dressed in clothes that were similar to fashions in the West.
What was the White Rose Group?
A group of students from University of Munich. Operated in secret , distributing anti-Nazi material urging sabotage and exposing the Nazi murder of Jews.
What happened to the members of the White Rose Group?
Caught and executed.

Describe the July Plot of 1944.
Attempt by the German army to take over the government. On 20 July, Lieutenant Claus von Stauffenberg left a bomb in a briefcase in a conference room where Hitler was going to meet military aides. Stauffenberg made an excuse to leave the room and believed reports that claimed Hitler was dead. Hitler survived with minor injuries.

What did Goebbels do on 25 March 1933?
Told all controllers of German radio that radio stations served the government, so they had to express Nazi ideology and follow government instructions on what to broadcast.

A decree that made the content of any newspaper the responsibility of the editor and made it crime for the editor to publish anything that might weaken the Third Reich.
