How do adjectives agree in Spanish?
They agree in gender, number, with the noun(s) or pronoun(s) they describe.
E.g. Adjectives ending in ‘O’-Blanco, Blancos, Blanca, Blancas.
What happens to adjectives ending in ‘e’ or a consonant?
They usually end the same in the masculine or feminine singular. Those ending in an -e add -s for the plural, and those ending in a consonant add -es.
What happens to adjectives ending in -a or -ista?
Regardless of gender the end in a and only -s is added for the plural.
BUT cada is invariable.
What happens to cada?
It is never changing.
Do adjectives still agree with the noun when used as the complement of the sentence, after ser, estar, parecer, resultar (to result/turn out)?
Yes.
Do certain nouns used as adjectives, such as colours where the name of a fruit or flower is used change?
Incl. examples
No.
Examples: paredes naranja (orange walls), insectos hembra (female insects)
If there are multiple nouns and one is masculine, what does the adjective agree with?
The masculine one as it takes the masculine plural agreement.
What does the adjective agree with when there is more than one noun?
Tends to agree with the first noun
Give two examples of adjectives that appear before the noun and drop the final letters.
Grande (both genders sing.)
Bueno, Malo, Primero, Tercero, Alguno, Ninguno (Masc. sing.)
