To state briefly in a logical order to summarize fiction: tell what happens in the story
Summarize
Obvious exaggeration; not to be taken literally; things are representing is much greater are much less than they really are
Hyperbole
To tell what happens in the story; include the goals of the character, how they dried try to reach them, and whether or not they succeed
To summarize fiction
Tell the main idea; think about text structure and how the selection is organized
To summarize nonfiction
The way that a character sounds
Voice
A phrase whose meaning cannot be determined by the ordinary words that formant; use context clues to determine the meaning

Using background knowledge and text evidence to make up for diction or draw a conclusion

The reason why something happens and it may have more than one affect

Words that are spelled the same but have different meanings context clues let you figure out which meaning is being used in a sentence
