If you were in charge of maintenance of the electrical generator, at which step would you follow the most safety rules? Why? What safety rules would you follow?
In the first place as it constans fire and heat which could cause great damage. Safety rules, as to keep the fire contained in a fireproof space, so the fires don’t light anything else.
Some of the wires in step 5 break and a worker decides to replace them with yarn instead. Would this work? Explain.
It would not work seeing as yarn is an insulator and therefore cannot carry electricity very well.
Some of the steam from step 2 escapes and turns back into liquid water at step 4. What problem would this cause? Explain.
The water could mix with the electricity that is being made and transported, which could result in fires.
If you were in charge of building a new power plant, what type of power plant would you choose to build? Give at least 2 reasons.
I’d build a nuclear power plant because they generate a lot of energy. Sweden als has a lot of uranium and a way to store leftover radioactive waste. The only time it wouldn’t be good is if it were to break, then it becomes highly dangerous. The chance of that happening is very small though. Oh, and they slo let out a very small amount of greenhouse gases.
Which type of energy production do you think is the worst? Give at least 1 reason.
Oil, because it’s both dangerous for the people working with it and the environment. Also, we’re running out of it and seeing as it’s an non-renewable energy source we won’t get any more for a loooong time.
What is 1 reason why the type of energy production you chose in the previous question is used?
Because it’s cheap and people like cheap stuff and we aren’t really selfless enough to realise the damages it’s doing to the environment and potential damages done to workers.
Based on the maps, how does Sweden’s electricity usage compare to the rest of Europe?
We are one of the countries who use the most amount of energy.
Which parts of Europe do you predict there would be the most greenhouse gas emissions based on how much electricity is used and their energy sources?
Probably Finland, seeing as they have a fairly high energy usage, and their most used energy source is oil.
