Q

how can you palpate the acromial-clavicular joint

A

this is the flat apart. you want to work your way up the clavicle ( it will raise up a bit then there will be a notch where they meet.
- low mobility and low stability and is the most commonly separated

Q

how can you palpate the scapulothoracic joint

A

this isnt a real joint but is just the motion of the scap along the thoracic wall
- to palapte you would have them wing back there arm so you can see the ridge and then it is just under the scap by the subscapularis

Q

know the action of the delts and the rotator cuff

Q

how can you palpate the rhomboids

A

they are both found on the vertebral border of the scap
you should have the person go prone and lay the dorsal side of the hand flat on back. then you can fill the movement at the root of the scap when they lift up

17
Q

how can you palpate the serratus anterior

A

this is the boxer muscle and is on the anterior surface of the vertebral border and it main action is scap stabilization when doing activities.
to palpate have the person lay on their back and have them lift arm straight up and you push down as they are punching up and you can see muscle move.

18
Q

how can you palpate the latissimus dorsi

A

to palpate lay in pron with their arm laying on their side with their thumb pointing up then preform actions

19
Q

how can you palpate the teres major

A

to palpate lay in pron with their arm laying on their side with their thumb pointing up then preform actions

20
Q

how can you palpate the pectoralis clavicular head

A

to palpate have the person lay on their back and lift arm up in the air. as they perform horizontal adduction resist that action and feel and the inferior anterior delt

21
Q

how can you palpate the pectoralis sternal head

A

to palpate have the person lay on their back and lift arm up in the air. as they perform and angled down motion toward their opposite hip and resist that action and feel and the inferior anterior delt

22
Q

how can you palpate the pectoralis minor

A

preform the “OH MY’” position with their dorsal hand on their forehead. you can see there minor popping up in the axillary. then have them lift their elbow up and you can sort of feel this muscle action.
