Q

What was the organization like?

A

I was the onsite delivery manager reporting into Morgan Stanley Manager. My counterpart was the offshore delivery manager and we had a team of about 40 people. The team was a mix of Junior, Intermediate and Senior resources (to form the pyramid). Within this pyramid, we had skills and location mix in order to effectively deliver the service

Q

What was the engagement model like?

A

Basically there are three phases in Engagement Model. First phase (2-6 weeks), we interface with the clients and understand the business and system overview, review their test cases and we will come up with a test plan and estimates. In phase 2 (3 months), we work closely with the vertical teams and participate in test execution during the release cycles. In phase 3 (and on going), we become a stablized client engagement and we took complete ownership of the test execution and the deliverables

Q

Severity Definition

A

Q

What are the applications that you supported as part of the service?

A

Trades Completion - which is a trade enrichment system which sources the data from Sales & Trading Systems and supplies enriched data to other Systems such as Risk and Settlement system as part of STP (straight through processing)

PARI - another example which is a Post Settlement Reconciliation Tool for OTC derivative cash settlement products

Libra - Loads the balances and journals for the current record date

SAFE - Settlement Processing System which posts the journals to the downstream post settlement reconciliation tool like PARI

Q

What was your monthly reporting to the Stakeholder of the application participating in the service?

A

Summary of the workdone for the month, Daily utilization for the month and quarterly utilization and test cases and cycles executed and defects reported

17
Q

What was the team communication channel like?

A

Onsite delivery lead will be interfacing with the vertical QA leads.

We had three different layers in team structure.

Control Layer team members - will provide the control
oversight

Client Interface team members - will interface with the clients for the ongoing application support

Test Execution and Analyst layer - will perform the execution and report the results

18
Q

What is the scope of service offered?

A

Regression execution, GUI automation execution, functional execution, Test Asset Maintenance, Test Data Maintenance, Result Analysis, Defect Reporting, Process Improvement and Knowlege Maintenance

19
Q

Explain PARI tool

A

Sources data from upstream systems like Magnet for Cashflow and Payment details, Contractual and Settlement Journals.
PARI matches and groups the journals to identify, investigate and resolve settlement breaks.
Testing was done for different user groups within the system.
Tested functionalities for lite and full journals, journal search, adding comments to journals, edit client accounts, archiving journals, etc.

20
Q

What was your role in TEA service?

A

I was the onsite client interface, test and service delivery lead with hands-on role on the applications supported
