assess: K, blood, urine glucose, weight, blood sugar, chest pain, I & O
teach: stress or surgery readjust dose, brushing easy, high protein diet, avoid exposure chicken pox or measles

dexamethasone doses

A

inflammation PO: 0.75-9mg q6-12h, IM 0.5-0.9mg q6-12h
anaphylactic shock: IV 1-6mg/kg or IV 40mg q2-6h up to 72h
cerebral edema: IV 10mg then 4-6mg IM q6h then taper over 1 week
